Meet the Team

My name is Rhonda, I have worked here for 19 years as a veterinary assistant/technician. I have two dogs Recker and Cleo, one cat, a goffin cockatoo, and many reptiles. When I'm not working or taking care of my own animals you can find me enjoying the outdoors, or in the kitchen baking and cooking. I look forward to continuing to care for your pets.

Hello everyone, my name is Taylor. I graduated from Pima Medical Institute about 2 years ago and have been working as a Veterinary Technician ever since. I have one big baby named Bruno, and 2 cats. I'm excited to meet everyone and care for your pets.

Dr. Heffelman

Hi my name is Jessica. I started working with animals at a vet clinic in the Caribbean at 16 years old. I moved to Arizona in 2012. I attended EMT school but realized working with animals was my passion and I've been a Vet Tech every since. I have a cat, Border Collie mix, and a long hair 3 legged Chihuahua; all of whom I raised from new born's and brought back with me from Antigua. I'm excited to meet you and your pets!

Hello my name is Nyssa, I'm currently attending Mesa Community College to become certified as a veterinary technician. I have one very spoiled little dog named Kawaii. In my spare time I like to read, and hang out with my family and friends. I can't wait to meet all of you and your pets.

I'm Peggy, I've enjoyed working here as a receptionist for the past 20 years. I have liked getting to know all the clients and their pets. When I'm not working and weather is cool outside I enjoy hiking with my 3 rescue dogs, Shadow, Tuki, and Dolly.

Dr. Heffelman is an Arizona native and graduated from Colorado State University’s Veterinary Medicine program in 2004.  He returned to Arizona in 2009 where he was an associate veterinarian in other practices before fulfilling his dream of practice ownership this year.  He looks forward to continuing to provide excellent care to the clients and patients of Superstition Animal Hospital.  His interests lie in Internal medicine, pain management, soft tissue surgery and behavior. He and his wife (also a veterinarian) have 3 dogs which he likes to describe as Large, Medium and Small -  A Labrador, Corgi, and Chihuahua respectively. You will see their pictures occasionally on Facebook, especially the Corgi who is particularly photogenic.  Please come in to say Hi and meet Dr. Heffelman.
